Grand Teton National Park is a place that has left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of the Mountain Khakis brand. From our perspective, this majestic park stands as a testament to nature's grandeur and resilience.
Nestled amidst the dramatic backdrop of the Teton Range, the park offers a unique blend of mountain vistas to the west and sweeping plains and rolling hills to the east. While smaller in size compared to its neighbor Yellowstone, Grand Teton poses a delightful challenge: choosing which trail to explore first.
Accessing Grand Teton is relatively straightforward; you can fly directly into Jackson, a regional airport, or opt for a larger airport like Salt Lake City. During our recent adventure, we chose to fly into Bozeman, MT, embarking on a scenic drive to Yellowstone and then to Grand Teton. Looking back, we'd recommend flying directly into Jackson to savor every moment this park has to offer.
The Highlights
TETON RANGE: The iconic Teton Range graces the Wyoming landscape with its awe-inspiring peaks, most notably the majestic Grand Teton. For adventurers, this backdrop of unparalleled beauty promises unforgettable experiences.
JENNY LAKE: Nestled within the embrace of the Teton Range, Jenny Lake exudes serenity with its crystal-clear waters reflecting the towering peaks. It's a haven for hikers and nature enthusiasts, offering tranquil shores and scenic trails. We particularly recommend taking the boat across Jenny Lake to access the Jenny Lake Loop trail. Along the way, you'll encounter Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point, with the latter providing a breathtaking perspective of the park.
MORMON ROW: Wyoming's Mormon Row stands as a historical testament, its iconic weathered barns and rustic structures blending seamlessly with the grandeur of the Teton Range. We suggest visiting at sunset for a truly spectacular view as the sun sets behind the Tetons.
WHERE TO GEAR UP: For all your outdoor needs, JD High Country Outfitters serves as a one-stop shop for hiking, fishing, and camping gear. Plus, you can find any Mountain Khakis gear you may have forgotten to pack.
WHERE TO EAT: While we may not be foodies, Leek's Marina & Pizzeria on the north end of the park captured our hearts with its great pizza, draft beer, and an unbeatable view. If you're passing through downtown Jackson, don't miss Cowboy Coffee Co. for a satisfying refuel.
❝ the Tetons - a grand, wild, rugged range of mountains that have no equal in the United States.
