A Guide on Heavier Weight Shirts and Shirtjacs

Embrace the In-Between Seasons with Heavier Weight Shirts and Shirtjacs:

A Guide by Hunter H. from Mountain Khakis

As the seasons transition from winter's chill to the blossoming warmth of spring, outdoor enthusiasts like myself are faced with the challenge of adapting to the unpredictable weather. It's during this in-between time that heavier weight shirts and shirtjacs prove to be the perfect companions for outdoor adventures. At Mountain Khakis, we understand the importance of versatile and durable outdoor gear, which is why our Moleskin ShirtJac, Hamilton Chamois shirt, and heavier weight flannels are essential pieces for embracing the changing seasons.

The Mountain Khakis Moleskin ShirtJac is a true testament to rugged versatility. Crafted from durable moleskin fabric, this ShirtJac offers the perfect balance between warmth and breathability, making it ideal for those transitional days when the temperature fluctuates. It’s my go to for a hike through the woods or gathering around the campfire with friends, the Moleskin ShirtJac provides reliable protection against the elements while exuding timeless style. My favorite feature is the hand pockets on the side-seam which are simply awesome. Hand warmth and storage, it’s a great ShirtJac.

For those seeking unparalleled comfort and durability, our Hamilton Chamois shirt is the ultimate choice. Made from soft yet rugged chamois fabric, this shirt is designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor adventures while keeping warm and protected against abrasion. The Hamilton’s 8.5-ounce heavyweight construction makes it perfect for layering during cooler mornings and evenings, and if the weather does warm up, I just open up the front buttons to wear it like a jacket which I think looks great. My favorite is the clay color, makes me easy to spot if I’m out with friends or coming across other people in the woods.

In addition to our Moleskin ShirtJac and Hamilton Chamois shirt, our collection of heavier weight flannels offers another versatile option for in-between seasons. My favorite from this season is the Highland Field Shirt. With the double layered, reinforced front and back yoke it’s a nod to a traditional hunting shirt that features durable construction and classic style. I like the Forest Moss color a lot when I’m wanting to blend in with nature around me without disturbing the peaceful sounds of the outdoors.

Whatever your favorite, our flannels are designed to withstand whatever Mother Nature throws your way. Whether you're tackling a challenging trail or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll through the around the lake with your dog, our heavier shirts and flannels provide the perfect combination of warmth, comfort, durability, and style.

As outdoor enthusiasts, we understand the importance of having reliable gear that can adapt to changing conditions. With our Moleskin ShirtJac, Hamilton Chamois shirt, and my favorite Highland Field Shirt, you can confidently embrace the in-between seasons and continue your outdoor adventures in style. So, gear up with Mountain Khakis and make the most of every outdoor moment, no matter the weather.
